Richarlison hopeful as he faces crucial Everton training session in fitness battle

Richarlison remains hopeful he will be passed fit to face Chelsea tomorrow.

The Brazilian was unable to take a part in full training on Friday as he nurses an ankle injury sustained in last weekend’s win over Brighton.

Marco Silva and the Everton medical staff will make a decision on Richarlison’s fitness today before the squad travel to London.

The 21-year-old is, at this stage. hopeful he can come through the session and take his place in the starting XI where he would be expected to play upfront.

Richarlison went over on his ankle early in last weekend’s game at Goodison but after receiving treatment, he carried on to score two goals and play the full 90 minutes.

On Friday, Silva described the summer signing as a “fighter” but admitted he was a “doubt” for the trip to Stamford Bridge yet Richarlison remains optimistic he can come through today’s session and win the race to be fit.
