THE Wallabies’ 13-match winning streak over Wales is one of Test rugby’s most curious hoodoos.

But less than one year out from the World Cup, Australia’s stranglehold over their Group D rivals has never been more at risk.

Since claiming a 29-21 victory over Wales in Cardiff in the corresponding fixture last year, the Wallabies have lost nine of 12 Tests and plummeted to sixth in the World Rugby standings.

In contrast, Wales have won nine of their past 12 fixtures — albeit with victories over Georgia, a second-string Springboks side in May and against Argentina, who sacked their coach following the June Tests — to climb to third.
